How to Apply

SOCMI accepts advanced string and piano students who demonstrate the ability to work with standard chamber music repertoire (mimimum: Royal Conservatory of Music Canada Grade 8 or equivalent) and show enthusiasm for developing themselves further as part of a chamber music ensemble. Please check back in early 2010 for the new application form.

Your complete Application Package must include these four components    

  • Application filled out in full
  • Biography in narrative form, 200 words maximum
  • Audition cassette tape, VHS video, CD / DVD (two contrasting pieces), MP3 file
  • $75 CAD non-refundable registration fee (applies to each member in a pre-formed ensemble)
  • $1,250 CAD tuition fee

Tuition includes accommodation and meals.
      Accommodation & Meals
      - dedicated dormitories at Appleby College in Oakville
      - double occupancy and shared bath
      - use of recreation and sport facilities
      - 3 meals per day served in the college’s cafeteria, plus 1 snack

PAYMENT SCHEDULE   

Payments may be made by cheque or credit card, in full or by installments;
1st  Installment:                        $250 due (TBD)
2nd Installment:                         $500 due (TBD)
3rd  installment:                        $500 due (TBD)
 
Registrations received by the early bird deadline will receive a 10% discount. Applications received after the earlybird date will pay the full tuition fee. Apply early and recieve your 10% discount.
$100 per member discount for a pre-formed member group.
All discounts will be credited against the third installment.
